Dine with me

Slow food at The Cleikum Social Eating Club

What could be better, after a day exploring the Highlands, than a Scottish dinner, hosted in a Highland home, with an expert cook and hostess to welcome you, and only you, where you will learn about the traditional recipes involved, and hear personal stories, in the spirit of conviviality that Slow Food stands for.

Each course in created from local produce, featuring some of the seasonal products in the Scottish Ark of Taste, such as Golspie’s pease meal and oatmeal, Crowdie Cheese, Arbroath Smokies and Aberdeen Angus Beef.  But, not only that, the abundance of summer’s soft fruit, which makes delicious breakfasts and desserts.  Venison from the hills, and fresh fish and seafood from around the coast.

The dinner table is a modern day Cleikum Club, where food is enjoyed and discussed, and your hostess is its landlady, Meg Dods (see Sir Walter Scott’s St. Ronan’s Well) and “Meg Dods” The Cook and Housewife’s Manual (1826).

Then the conversation will go where it will …

Please note, I also offer lunch and/or dinner to non residents.
